Choreographer and Teacher
As a choreographer, Madeline approaches any piece with the dancers in mind. Especially creating solos, she curates the song, costume, moves, and everything in between for each specific dancers strengths and passions. More than anything her students inspire her to push the boundaries on what you would expect to see on the competition dance stage. Madeline’s choreographic style is athletic, utilizes sounds like claps and stomps, and is typically inspired by the music.
As a teacher Madeline emphasizes that every dancer is at a different place in their journey. She likes to focus on taking risks in class! Nobody has every grown while staying inside their comfort zone. Madeline is big on celebrating dancer "fails" in her classes. When a dancer falls that just tells her they used their plie, pushed themselves, or traveled to their limit. When we hit these limits that is when we are able to grow. If you never go for a triple pirouette you will only do doubles your whole life! Weather she has been teaching you for years or is only teaching a masterclass Madeline is passionate about shaping the future of the dance world!

“Madeline has been in charge of my daughter's competitive team for two years. I have seen and had nothing but positive interactions with her. I am always amazed at how organized she is from choreographing to running team practices, team bonding, team pictures (which she takes herself!), performances and competitions. You can tell she has a love for these girls, dance, and giving forward by how much work and thought she puts into all of it.
The most memorable interaction for me, that attests to her character, would be her response to an incident this year. The teachers felt that the team was not acting professional during a rehearsal. Her response was one that I felt elevated, inspired, and motivated the girls. She took the opportunity to bring them up emotionally by tactfully reminding them why they were there and encouraging a "you get what you give" mentality in each of them, along with a small assignment to watch some dance videos and find what inspires them. I was highly impressed and my daughter felt inspired to work harder and be better while at dance, and, beyond that, in life. Not only is Madeline a professional dancer and choreographer, but she has a way of creating an uplifting, positive environment that makes each girl individually feel loved and accepted. “There isn't amount of words to describe the type of person Madeline is. Madeline Brown was my first solo choreographer. At first, I didn't know who she was, but I was excited to meet her. She didn't know who I was either, so the first couple of rehearsals were just feeling it out, but I immediately felt a friendship. She saw me as an equal, and my input was important. Fast forward to the end of that year, I had received a consistent platinum scoring with the occasional double platinum, every convention I was getting called out and/or receiving an award. She saw the potential in me and ran with it. She pushed me to reach goals I thought I would never reach. This year, we are doing two solos, and it has been amazing. She choreographed them to perfectly fit me as a dancer and shows off my assets. Madeline's choreography is so intricate you will never find anything like it.
